Little Man

Little Man
Make your own Glitter Graphics
Zac asked me if he could make a sandwich, I went in the kitchen and he was making it in his little bath robe. He just looked so funny! Like a little bitty man or something. I don't know, he was just so cute it just made me laugh and I had to take a picture. I hope y'all enjoy!

Primary Water Day

Zac and his brother Alex. Can you see a resemblance?
On your mark, get set, GO!
Zac and his buddy Justin.

As you can plainly see, the kids had a blast at the Primary water day! It was kind of like a little summer fun party for the kids at church that they had at Paulete Bryant's house this week. They had 4 big blow up water slides and the kids played on them for hours! Zac got to play with his little brother Alex and they had big time fun! He also go to play with his best friend from his kindergarten class Justin Day. I think they have really missed each other this summer. It was nice for the adults as well, because they got to just sit back and relax while the kids played. It was definitely a big success!

Calamity Zac!

Up Close and personal with Zac's stitches, if you look closely, you can see the blood in his hair by his ear!
He is pretty proud of his "Battle Scar!"
This is my baby with his bandage and ice pack after I further injured him, I guess I am Calamity Cayla!

Yesterday was quite an exciting day for the Eikeland family! First, Thor got his first haircut at Mrs. Debbie's, then while mom and I were visiting Granny and running errands for the birthday party, we got the phone call. Zac got hit in the head with a golf club and Curry was rushing him to the emergency room. Mom panicked, and my heart sank and I said "no, I am calling Dr. Skipper, (he is the doctor I work with). After many calls and tracking down, Dr. Skipper met us at the clinic and Zac got 7 stitches in his little forehead. He was pretty nervous about the numbing thing because he hates shots, but after he braved through that, it was smooth sailing. I was so greatful that Dr. Skipper did that for us because Zac loves him and he was not near as afraid. Ok, back to how this happened, I left Zac with my dad, and then he left him with my brother Curry and his friend Justin, mistake #1 . Obviously the level of supervision was pretty poor and when two boys ages 6 and 10 are playing with real golf clubs, not a good combination. Curry said Jeremy ran over and said "it was an accident, I hit him with the golf ball and he is hurt!" Curry didn't really think much of it and went on about his buisness. Then Justin saw Zac on the ground with one hand on his head, and one hand full of blood and ran around the corner yelling " he's hurt bad Curry, he's hurt really bad" Curry dropped everything in his hands and started running to Zac. Justin had already pulled of his "white" shirt and had it on his head, Curry pulled off his shirt and added it to the pile. Needless to say, it was an adventure! Then, later that evening after the party, I didn't know Zac was behind me and I turned around and elbowed him RIGHT where he had gotten stitches earlier in the day! Almost immediately a huge goose egg popped up and scared mom and I to death. I called the doctor back and had to put a pressure dressing on it and wrap his head and put ice on it.
It was kind of funny because when my cousin Jessica and I were little, we were playing golf and I hit her in the head with a golf club. I guess that was payback for me. Poor little Zac!

Thor's 1st Birthday Party!

Zac and Jordan in their "boat"
Zac was supervising Thor opening his presents.
"The Three Amigos"

Today is Zac's cousin Thor's 1st birthday! Yesterday was his party and Zac had so much fun! He was supposed to be resting and calm because of his unfortunate accident! But, Zac and Calm just don't go together! He and Jordan enjoyed playing in the kiddie pool together and pretending it was a boat. He of course played with Thor and his Pop! I think it is safe to use the cliche' A good time was had by all!

Piano Man!

Zac has been taking piano lessons for a couple of months at Lawson's Piano Studio in Bristol. Jake Lawson is his teacher and Zac thinks he is awesome of course! Zac is learning a lot and I am sure he is teaching Jake a lot as well! Ha Ha! I really hope he sticks with it because he loves music and I think he really has a knack for it. I wish I had stuck with piano when I was little. Anyway, Here is a picture of Zac and his teacher Jake working hard at the piano! Enjoy!

Smokey and The Bandit!

Zac insisted the he and his Pop were "good bandits" and that they helped people!
Two Peas in a Pod!
Zac and his Pop are the best of friends! You rarely see one without the other. Zac is so lucky to have my dad in his life as a male role model! They are quite comical to watch together. They are just about on the same mental level if you know what I mean! Zac's little cousin Thor is following in his footsteps, Thor is all about his Pop also. If Pop is around, nobody else matters! Looks like Pop has his work cut out for him for many years to come!

My Growing Boy!

4 years old
5 years old
6 years old

I found some old pictures of Zac's birthday parties and I couldn't believe how much he has grown in the past few years! I am so proud to be able to finally say that I have been his Mama for longer that his biological mom was! I have waited a long time to be able to reach that milestone in our journey! Boy does it feel amazing. I would not trade that precious little boy for anything in the world! He is my heart and he means everything to me. I know that the Lord sent him to my home for a reason and I am so thankful to have Zac in my life.

Happy Birthday Eikelands!

Birthdays are so much fun! (Zac and our cousin Kayleigh)
"Ok, I have my ballet slippers, and my lipstick, now where is my purse?"

Yesterday we had the summer birthday party for the Eikelands in Tallahassee. It was a lot of fun. Everyone received gifts and ate cake. I think the babies had as much fun playing with (or fighting over:) Kayleigh's toys as they did opening their presents! Thor was mad at Kayleigh for touching the cake first and Kayleigh was looking at Thor like he was crazy for digging into it and getting messy. They both thought the other was just not quite right! Check out Amanda's blog or click the link that says Kayleigh to go to her blog to see more pictures.

Hotlanta!

Whitney and I sportn' our "Stripling Warrior" headbands
"Kristin, What are you doing?"
As you can see, we had a super time in Atlanta at the singles conference this weekend! Not! It pretty much sucked! We had a blast in the van on the way there and back, but the dances and stuff left much to be desired. We tried to be peppy and excited, but it just didn't work out quite like we wanted it to. Although Kristin and I got a nice deluxe pedicure at the mall while we were there. That was fabulous! Kristin wanted to sleep on the way up there, but I had other plans for her. I kept waking her up and saying, "Kristin, what are you doing?" That was the question of the weekend. She probably got tired of hearing "Kristin, what are you doing?" Oh, you are probably wondering about the yellow headbands, we were given them in a workshop about missionary work. The lady had a big picture of the 2000 Stripling Warriors with their yellow head bands and then she said "we have these lovely yellow headbands for you all to wear, and we would like for you to wear them all day!" How nice! Anyway, no more singles conferences for me! Maybe next time we can just take a road trip and it would be much more fun!Just to let everyone know who went with me, it was Kristin, Whitney, Adam, Evan, and Amanda Geiger. P.S. It smells like "up dog" in this van!

Eddie Joe the Rooster!

Zac and Eddie Joe
Zac,Pop, Eddie Joe and the dogs
This is Eddie Joe, my dad's prize rooster! To make a long story short, there is a man in Hosford named Eddie Joe White who is running for Sheriff in Liberty County. Since this is the first rooster in dad's batch of chickens to develop his little rooster comb on his head and everything and since his feathers are white in color, dad decided it would be cool to name him Eddie Joe White. As most of you know, my dad is a little on the odd side, but you gotta love him! So, anyway, I have been laughing about Eddie Joe for days because dad brought him in my house one morning. So, dad brought him to my cousin Jessica's birthday lst night for the kids to see and he sent me back on the golf cart to put this chicken back in the pen. Aunt Darlene and baby Thor were riding with me and I was holding the chicken. He started trying to escape and attack me and I was screaming and squeezing him tighter, and then Aunt Darlene had to steer and I was still screaming and then he stopped moving and his head flopped back and he closed his eyes and I thought he was dead! I was shaking him and screaming "Eddie Joe, WAKE UP! Eddie Joe, don't die!" He lifted his head up once and looked at me and then flopped it right back again. Then I put him in the pen and he was fine. It was so bizarre! Thor was looking at us like we were crazy, because I was screaming and Aunt Darlene was laughing! But I checked on him today and Eddie Joe is alive and well!

Pop's Garden

I thought these marigolds matched his shirt and they are so pretty, the reason they are in the garden is because they are supposed to keep the bugs off of the vegetables.
Dad's corn is getting so tall and I told Zac to kneel down, I almost couldn't see his face.

I was not a member of dad's garden fan club when he first planted it in my yard, but now it looks really pretty and he and Zac and Taylor are getting to spend a lot of "bonding time" working in it. It also makes for some nice photo ops! Dad is really proud of it and he loves to take care of it. He has been wanting to plant one and I am proud of it as well.

Indiana Jones!

Watch out bad guys, here comes Indiana Jones with his amazing whip!
He looks pretty serious doesn't he?
He is concentrating really hard on his next mission!
I am sure most of you have probably seen all of the hype on TV about the new Indiana Jones movie that just came out. Zac has become pretty obsessed with it! He has taken an interest in whips and has talked about nothing but whips fer several weeks now! So, his sweet, loving Nana, (my mom) decided that he needed the Indiana Jones SOUND EFFECTS whip from Wal-Mart! Now I have the Indiana Jones theme song permanently embedded into my mind! That is all we have heard all weekend is that song accompanied by the sound of a cracking whip! Thanks Nana! Of course Zac thinks it is great! He has also been taking a few lessons from his Uncle Lobo (Curry) to learn how to crack a REAL whip. Curry made a whip when he was in high school and he is trying to teach Zac how to crack it. Zac is catching on pretty quickly.

My Garden

OK, maybe this is not all that interesting to everybody but I am soooo excited about it! I have a new hobby! I have taken up flower gardening. I have my own little flower garden in my front yard. I have designed some little flower beds and I have a little rose bush/tree. I have NEVER and I mean NEVER, EVER enjoyed being outside, let alone WORKING outside. But now I love it! I even got up at 7:15 one Saturday morning to work in my yard and Zac wasn't even home to wake me up! My mom thought I must be sick or something! I mowed my lawn with the push mower last week and dad and Zac kept driving by on the golf cart and they would just park just to watch me. It was like I was a freak show or something! You would think they had never seen me mow grass before. Oh, that's right, they never have, that was the first time I had ever done that in my entire life!! Anyway, Here are a few pics of my masterpiece! I know it isn't much, but I am so proud of it.
